The other day while I was helping Anna fold laundry, I grumbled to myself and shook out a freshly folded shirt. Anna asked why I did that and I told her I had folded it the wrong way and I wanted to make sure I folded it the way she liked. She looked at me with one of those sweet smiles she does when I do something nice and she said, “You can fold things however you want. I’ve been trying to be less neurotic with things and just be happy that you help me.” So what is love? Love is two people trying their best to love each other. It is not about buying flowers, exotic vacations, expensive jewelry or Facebook posts. It is as simple as folding laundry.
“You don’t love someone because they’re perfect, you love them in spite of the fact that they’re not.”
― Jodi Picoult, My Sister’s Keeper
