This recipe, compliments of my mother, is absolutely amazing. It’s a great spin on the usual ways to present asparagus and is a sure fire way to get your kids to eat their veggies! And although this may not be the healthiest, you can’t argue with the taste. Plus, everyone deserves a cheat meal every now and then.
Ingredients:
- Bacon (6-8 slices)
- 1 asparagus bundle, about 30 stalks each
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tbls soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Wrap bacon around 5 pieces of asparagus each, set them on a greased baking sheet.
Combine all other ingredients in a small saucepan on medium heat. Stir until boiling and caramel sauce is formed. Pour sauce on bacon wrapper asparagus. Place in oven at 400° for 25-30 minutes, Enjoy!
